Oncopanels

NGS sequencing-based oncology panels

Oncopanels

Frontage offers cost-effective examination of oncogenes from tumor tissue, biofluids, or genomic or cfDNA samples using targeted sequencing of oncopanels developed by industry leading manufacturers such as Illumina and Swift Biosciences. Only panels with expert–defined content are utilized in order to identify variants and fusion events with established relevance to cancer genetics. Extraction services are optimized for multiple samples types including biofluids to facilitate examination of circulating genetic variants collected with minimally invasive strategies.

Examining Genetic Variants with Liquid Biopsy and Tumor Samples

Frontage Laboratories provide ultra-deep sequencing of cancer genes as well as cancer-related genes included in oncopanels. The targeted genes in these oncopanels are among the most studied genes in cancer research.

Our approach allows direct analysis of potentially pathogenic genetic variants residing in known oncogenes. We can isolate cell-free DNA (cfDNA) from patient blood samples, and genomic DNA from tissue biopsies for ultra-deep sequencing of targeted oncogenes. The focused nature of oncopanels can reduce costs and increase the speed of genomic studies because only a limited set of genes are interrogated. Additional benefits include advanced detection of low-frequency variants with deeper sequencing options and production of more manageable datasets than traditional whole genome sequencing studies.

Oncogene Analysis Service

A wide choice of oncopanels are available for selection at Frontage for oncogene analysis service (Table 1). Many of the oncopanels accommodate low input DNA (10 ng) and are therefore amenable to cfDNA oncogene analysis. While some oncopanels include sets of genes involved in various tumor types, others are more specific and contain genes involved in specific cancer types e.g. colorectal cancer and lung cancer. The diversity as well as the specificity of the oncopanels available enable selection of the best oncopanel that satisfies your research interests.
